How extraordinary experience!
Tuna Auction! At NOBU Kuala Lumpur.
I attended to a tuna cutting show and auction at NOBU Kuala Lumpur.
The massive 124-kilogram bluefin tuna from Nagasaki, Japan was truly spectacular. I’ve seen tuna cutting shows many times in Japan, but I rarely come across one this large. Watching the Master chef cut the fish with such intensity made me tense up just watching. Chunks of tuna weighing about 3 kg each, separated by cut, were put up for auction one after another, and my group of friends finally won a bid!
We enjoyed tuna tastings and finger foods paired with sake—it was a wonderful evening.
Nobu KL is also offering a “Tuna Osusume” menu (starting at RM90+) through the end of June.

素晴らしい体験！NOBU Kuala Lumpur にて、マグロ解体ショーとオークションに招待いただきました。
124Kgもの長崎産の巨大な本まぐろは圧巻。日本でマグロ解体ショーは何度も目にしたことがありますが、ここまで大きなものはそう見かけません。シェフが全力でカットしている姿は、こちらまで手に力が入るほど。部位ごとに分けられた約3Kgのマグロの塊が次々とオークションにかけられていき、私の友人グループもついに競り落としました！
マグロの試食とフィンガーフードを日本酒とのペアリングで楽しみ、素晴らしい夜でした。
Nobu KLでは、6月末までTuna Osusume メニュー( RM90+から)も提供しています。

Since opening its first store in Johor Jaya, the chain has grown to 31 locations. I suspect that the secret to their delicious food lies in the fact that they prepare their dishes at each individual store rather than in a central kitchen.

SMOKEY’S ITALIAN is an Italian restaurant in the Permas area of Johor that’s been generating a lot of buzz. Owned by YeChin, a former designer, the restaurant is a labor of love that reflects her meticulous attention to detail. With a commitment to delivering simple, authentic Italian flavors that highlight the quality of the ingredients, every sauce is made from scratch. The wood-fired pizzas, juicy meatballs, and hearty pasta dishes have earned the restaurant a stellar reputation, attracting not only repeat customers from the neighborhood but also visitors who make a special trip from afar.
I particularly enjoyed the Tuscan salad—featuring spinach, bacon, sweet onions, and pine nuts—and the rich tomato and seafood risotto. You can enjoy authentic flavors unique to a non-halal restaurant, such as porchetta (herb-roasted pork belly) and pizza topped with Parma ham, all in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

ジョホールバル・Permasエリアで話題を集めるイタリアン、SMOKEY’S ITALIAN。元デザイナーだった女性オーナーのYeChin Lim氏のこだわりが詰まったこのお店は、素材の良さを感じるシンプルで本物のイタリアの味を届けたいと、全てのソースは手作り。薪窯で焼くピザと、ジューシーなミートボール、ボリュームもしっかりあるパスタは評判が高く、近所のリピート客だけでなく、遠くからわざわざ訪れる客もいるそう。
私は、ほうれん草とベーコンに甘いオニオンと松の実が入ったトスカーナサラダと、トマトと魚介の濃厚なリゾットが特に気に入りました。ポルケッタ(豚バラのハーブロースト)やパルマハムのピザなど、ノンハラルならではの本場の味を、暖かい雰囲気の中で楽しめます。

The buffet at the Courtyard Kuala Lumpur South, running through the end of June, has an Asian theme. It features dishes from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea.
The appetizers include chapchae, Soba noodle salad, and papaya salad, while desserts feature hotteok, dorayaki, dango, a mango and sticky rice dessert, and kueh—an assortment rarely seen at other hotels.
Of course, the main dishes include sumptuous grilled items and teppanyaki. The promotion offering two free children per two adults is also a great deal.
