Nobu KL, which opened in 2015, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year!
Owner-chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who has created legends worldwide from Hollywood to Tokyo, London to Dubai, hosted a grand party to which I was invited.
The Sultan's family of Selangor were also present, and we enjoyed exquisite cuisine and champagne, accompanied by taiko drums, violin music, and a laser show.
The Nobu Group operates 77 restaurants across more than 30 countries worldwide. The 2015 opening of the Kuala Lumpur branch marked Nobu's first venture into Southeast Asia.
Nobu KL continually updates its menu, blending Japanese and Peruvian fusion cuisine, merging traditional Japanese techniques with Peruvian influences, and incorporating local ingredients and seasonal elements.

Congratulations 2nd Anniversary!
Pyro, highly acclaimed the wood-fired restaurant in Damansara led by Chef Louis. When I visited before, I was really impressed by the high-quality dishes where the excellent ingredients truly shone.
That's when I heard about their "2nd Anniversary Party Event," so I booked immediately and visited today. For RM98+, you get sashimi, two hot dishes, HÀagen-Dazs ice cream, and all-you-can-drink draft beer.
Huge fresh oysters, medium-fatty tuna, and salmon sashimi. For the hot dishes, you could choose from four carefully selected options, with the option to add more at RM25 per dish.
The exquisite roast beef, pulled duck and foie gras burger, easy-to-eat fried chicken cordon bleu, and beef tartare appetizer were all prepared and tasted like high-end restaurant fare, making for a blissful time.
The event style was also very educational.
We'll be attending the 3rd anniversary event too!

Hidden Gem ! Opened in 2020 at Solaris Dutamus in Kuala Lumpur (in Publika Mall), this bistro-brasserie â Le Gourmandinâ offers casual yet authentic French cuisine. Chef Firmin, who hails from Toulouse, France, is the owner chef of this bistro-brasserie.
I particularly enjoyed the medium rare bavette steak and duck in pie ( Duck wellington). The portions are generous. Black Angus beef tartare is also a popular menu item.
The space is quiet and relaxing. A la carte and lunch are quite reasonable, and dinner course meals are available at a budget of from around RM150 per person. The restaurant is perfect for birthday parties, corporate dinners, and private events too!

Hidden Gem ! Opened in 2020 at Solaris Dutamus in Kuala Lumpur (in Publika Mall), this bistro-brasserie â Le Gourmandinâ offers casual yet authentic French cuisine. Chef Firmin, who hails from Toulouse, France, is the owner chef of this bistro-brasserie.
I particularly enjoyed the medium rare bavette steak and duck in pie ( Duck wellington). The portions are generous. Black Angus beef tartare is also a popular menu item.
The space is quiet and relaxing. A la carte and lunch are quite reasonable, and dinner course meals are available at a budget of from around RM150 per person. The restaurant is perfect for birthday parties, corporate dinners, and private events too!

Signature Visit Malaysia 2026 Mocktail Launch
At R Bar, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre
I attended the official welcome mocktail launch event for Visit Malaysia 2026, the Bandung Pandan Spritz.
This is a mocktail created by Mr. Muhammad Nazemi of Renaissance Hotel KL , the winner of the earlier The Signature Mocktail Championship.
A perfect blend of lemon, coconut juice, bandung (rose syrup), soda, pandan, and lychee, this drink is packed with Malaysian identity. I was moved by his speech, "It was only with the help of my team that we won."
We also enjoyed traditional Malaysian cuisine by Executive Chef Alan and his team and traditional Malaysian dancing.
As a gift, we received a beautiful fan made of batik cloth.
Malaysia will be even more exciting in 2026, the Year of Tourism.

Last night I attended the HENDRICK's GIN event at The RC Bar at the Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur. Southeast Asian brand ambassador Charmaine Thio and her actor friend were on hand to talk about the history of gin with quotes from literary works and to sample cocktails from the works.
The guests enjoyed three cocktails: a Gin Tonic, Martinez, and a Gin Basil Smash, while listening to quotes from gin-loving authors such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Dorothy Parker.
Hendrick's Gin is a craft gin from Scotland with a unique flavor that combines the usual botanicals (juniper berries, etc.) with the essence of rose petals and cucumber. Created in 1999, it has been highly acclaimed around the world for its unique aroma and fine taste.
The RC Bar is currently hosting a nightly happy hour from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with 1 for 1 Hendrick's Gin cocktails.
After this event, we enjoyed a buffet dinner with Mexican highlights.

The Spain Tourism Board is pleased to announce a "World Tapas Day" event at Marta's Kitchen in Kuala Lumpur. I was invited to the event.
His Excellency José Luis Pardo, Ambassador of Spain to Malaysia, said, "Tapas is a special ambassador that embodies the Spanish identity. They are not only a taste sensation, but also an experience that connects people".
Delegations from the City of Valladolid and Saborea España also came to promote the Asian National Tapas Championship to be held in Kuching in June (16â19 June 2025).
The 10 kinds of tapas and sangria prepared by Marta of Marta's Kitchen were authentic and very tasty. We also had portraits drawn by Sophia Ng Studio @art.sophiangstudio.
It was a day to enjoy the charm of Spain with all five senses.
