This hotel offer so many uniquely local fusion dishes that got me excited. Highlights included prime rib beef char siw, chicken rendang and smoked duck croffles, and mushroom mashed potatoes stuffed with crab etc. Desserts weren't just adorable but also sophisticatedly delicious. Recommended for those who want to savor dishes with a twist beyond just Western flavors.

Of course, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat luxurious seafood and grilled Wagyu beef. But the feast doesn't stop there: Beef Wellington, roast turkey, herb-crusted lamb rack, BBQ beef ribs, and the live cooking station featuring Mongolian stir-fry and spinach pesto ravioli. The variety is impressive, ranging from traditional dishes to trendy menu items likely created by the chef team. Perhaps because it was close to Deepavali, the live cooking station featured an especially extensive selection of Indian cuisine.
The biryani and lamb curry were absolutely delicious. Baskin-Robbins ice cream is all-you-can-eat. This is a huge plus.
The Chinese Face-Changing Performance is also highly entertaining.

The biryani and lamb curry were absolutely delicious. Baskin-Robbins ice cream is all-you-can-eat. This is a huge plus.
The Chinese Face-Changing Performance is also highly entertaining.

品揃え豊富で、伝統的な料理から、シェフのチームが考案したと思われるトレンドのメニューまでいろいろ登場するのが面白い。この日はディーパバリから近い日程だったからか、ライブコーナーでのインド料理が充実していました。
ブリヤニやラムカレーがとても美味しかったです。アイスクリームはバスキンロビンス(サーティーワンアイスクリーム)が食べ放題。これはとても嬉しい。
中国のお面早変わりショーもとても楽しめます。家族みんなで楽しめるビュッフェ。

The ever-popular St. Giles Hotel in Johor Bahru is always bustling. This 4-star hotel, attached to Mid Valley Southkey, is hugely popular with Singaporeans who love shopping.
Not only is it convenient, but the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. This time, I stayed in a Premier Room for two nights. It features a separate living area and bedroom, with large windows offering endless views of JB. Equipped with a microwave and washer-dryer, it was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Water is eco-friendly, with guests filling their own bottles at the hallway water station.
Staying in a Premier Room grants access to the Executive Lounge, which features massage chairs. The real draw is the option to order à la carte items alongside the buffet during cocktail hour and breakfast. The breakfast menu has expanded and become even more appealing.
It's perfect for those who want to avoid the bustle of the buffet in the main dining restaurant and enjoy a quiet, leisurely meal. Since it often fills up, I recommend booking early.

40th Anniversary Culinary Journey @ Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur
Congratulations! Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur celebrated its 40th anniversary yesterday, September 19.
To celebrate, a special "culinary journey" touring the hotel's restaurants was held, and I was invited.
The journey began at Horizon Lounge. Veuve Clicquot champagne was poured into champagne glasses arranged to spell out the number 40. We toasted with a greeting from General Manager Daniel. Moving to Zipangu, we enjoyed three exquisite appetizers by Chef Takizawa, paired with the Japanese sake "Kubota". Next, at Shang Palace, we enjoyed an exquisite soup and fish dish by Chef Keith, paired with Chablis 1er Cru white wine. At Arthur's Bar & Grill, after commentary by Executive Chef Scott, we savored red wine and a 28-day dry-aged steak. The finale was at Lemon Garden, featuring a lemon-themed dessert buffet and coffee.
Every restaurant featured beautiful table settings, making it a delicious and luxurious experience. We received a cute 40th anniversary cupcake as a souvenir.
As one of its fans, I sincerely hope the beloved Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur continues to make history and thrive for many years to come.

これをお祝いして、館内のレストランを巡るスペシャルな「美食の旅」が開催され、招待いただきました。
旅はホライゾンラウンジからスタート。40の文字に並べられたシャンパングラスに注がれるヴーヴクリコ。ゼネラルマネージャーのDaniel氏の挨拶で乾杯。Zipanguに移動して、滝沢シェフによる美しい絶品前菜3種と日本酒「久保田」のペアリング。次のShang Palace では、白ワインChablis 1er Cruをいただきつつ、Keithシェフによる極上のスープと魚料理を楽しみ、Arthur’s Bar & Grillでは、エグゼクティブシェフScottによる解説の後、赤ワインと28日ドライエイジングのステーキを楽しみました。締めはLemon Garden にてレモンを使用したデザートのビュッフェとコーヒー。
全てのレストランで美しくテーブルセッティングがされており、おいしくてゴージャスな素晴らしい体験でした。いただいたお土産はキュートな40周年記念カップケーキ。
