Adu Sugar Restaurant @ Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, KL
No Pork, No Lard, No Alcohol
A Malay restaurant that is a real secret but I want to tell you about it, a hidden gem.
It is the best Malay food I have ever tasted.
Adu Sugar is located on the 1st floor of Shoplot in the Bangsar area of Kuala Lumpur.
The food is original Malay cuisine that sticks to the basics. It is run by celebrity chef Adu and his chef sisters and staff, so the taste and quality of the food is maintained throughout. Every dish is superbly balanced, gentle, and so elegant and delicate that you would think this is Malay cuisine. 40 percent of the menu is vegan, so it is a good idea to come with vegetarian friends too.
The beautiful murals decorating the restaurant were all painted by Chef Adu. The interior is a very beautiful mix of different things.
All the dishes we ordered this time were vegetarian. The red curry with rambutan, chestnuts and mango was fruity. The pesto pasta was excellent with an Asian flavor. This restaurant can be used for business entertainment.
My photos:
-Rambutan & Wild Mango Red Curry RM36.99
-Young Jack Fruit Rendang RM29.9
-Pesto Pasta RM35.99
-Asian Herb Pesto Rice RM8.99
-Coconut Blue Rice RM7.99
-With Chef Adu
(I haven't seen the versatile and charming Chef Adu in two years. He is from the state of Johor!)
