Shinwa Ramen" is known by all Japanese living in Penang. The restaurant is located in a complex of yakiniku restaurants, omakase restaurants, cafes, and hotels operated by a group company.
The signature dish is the "Omi Beef A5 Wagyu Shoyu Ramen," which is loaded with Omi Beef, the premium A5 Wagyu beef that Shiga Prefecture is proud of. It has a deep yet light, clear soy sauce broth with the refined sweetness of Omi Beef. It is surprisingly affordable at only RM28.
“Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen" also has a broth that is not too heavy and is filled with plenty of thinly sliced meat. The "Beef Syabuyaki Don" is everyone's favorite taste. The rice was also delicious.
This is a restaurant where you can enjoy delicious food in a casual atmosphere and must repeat the experience. The hospitality of the staff was also good.

Today, I attended this Event with a friend.
“Kagami Biraki 鏡開き” is a Japanese tradition of breaking open a sake barrel during celebrations.
It’s a ritual to pray for good luck and prosperity in the New Year, because the circular shape ( mirror-shaped)sake barrel symbolize happiness and harmony, and the act of "opening" has an auspicious meaning of opening luck.
Then, kaiseki courses by Chef Kazuo Takizawa is paired with sake, shochu, and ume wine.
He is with over 20 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, comes from "Nadaman なだ万”: Famous Kaiseki Restaurant in Japan to showcase his skills. His creative seven-course kaiseki cuisine, which takes an innovative approach to traditional Japanese flavors and creates harmony, is paired with six carefully selected varieties of sake, shochu, and ume wine.
The marriage was wonderful, matching the intensity of the flavors of the dishes.
Zipangu with a Zen atmosphere is very nice and perfect for dinners and celebrations.

The Eastern & Oriental Hotel is a coveted hotel in Penang, 140 years old this year since its establishment.I have been to Penang several times before, but this was my first visit to this hotel.The bar was so nice that I visited again for afternoon tea and was shown the hotel rooms.
The hotel is conveniently located in Georgetown, a classic hotel with a colonial style and a stately feel, but it also stands by the sea and has a resort feel with a sea view.This is a one-of-a-kind hotel and has a unique presence among hotels in Penang.All rooms are suites, and each room is decorated according to a theme.
Of the several rooms we were shown, the "Writer Suite - Rudyard Kipling" was a sigh-inducingly beautiful alternate universe filled with antique books and photographs.
Afternoon tea in the "Palm Court" lounge was served in the traditional English style, with 14 kinds of sweets, savories, and scones on a three-tiered tray. The jam for the scones is homemade, and there is a choice of 14 varieties of Harney & Sons tea. I especially liked the crab sandwich, truffle-scented egg sandwich, and vanilla eclair. It's a quality, relaxing place to spend some quality time.

ペナンにある憧れのEastern & Oriental Hotel。今年で創業から140年の老舗。これまで数回ペナンに来たことがありますが、このホテルを訪れるのは今回がはじめてでした。バーがとても素敵だったので、アフタヌーンティーをしに再度訪れ、ホテルの部屋も見せていただきました。
ジョージタウンの便利なロケーション、コロニアル様式で重厚感があるクラシックホテルなのに、海沿いに建ち、シービューのリゾート感も併せ持つ。このようなホテルは唯一無二で、ペナンのホテルの中でもひときわ存在感があります。全室スイートルームで、部屋によってテーマに沿ったインテリア。
いくつか見せていただいた部屋のうち、「Writer Suite - Rudyard Kipling 」は、アンティークの本や写真のたくさんある、ため息が出るほど美しい別世界でした。
ラウンジ「Palm Court」でのアフタヌーンティーは、伝統的なイギリス式。14種類ものスイーツとセイボリー、スコーンが三段トレイに載って盛りだくさん。スコーン用のジャムも自家製で、お茶はHarney & Sons の茶葉14種から選べます。カニのサンドウィッチやトリュフ香るエッグサンド、バニラエクレアが特に気に入りました。上質でゆったりとした時間を過ごせます。
