“ Orchestra of Flames”.
Located in an office building near KLCC, Barkar combines Malaysian fusion cuisine with open-flame grilling and smoking techniques, and has been named a Michelin Selected Restaurant for 2025.
The interior design is uplifting from the moment you enter, the dishes are full of originality and express the combined skills and flavors of Malaysian cuisine, and even the desserts are of high quality. The concept of an "Orchestra of Flames" is apt, as the food is dynamic, savory, smoky, and harmonious throughout. The way the ingredients were combined was very Malaysian and full of surprises.
I especially liked the grilled squid, wagyu beef char siu claypot rice, and corn millefeuille.
The two sessions are two parts of two hours each, so if you want to stay longer, I recommend the session starting at 8pm.

「炎のオーケストラ」。
Barkar はKLCC近くのオフィスビルに位置し、マレーシアヒュージョン料理と直火焼き、スモークの手法を組み合わせたレストラン。2025年のミシュランセレクティッドレストランに選ばれています。
入り口から気分が高まる内装、マレーシア料理の合わせ技と味をしっかり表現したオリジナリティあふれる料理、デザートまでハイクオリティ。「炎のオーケストラ」というコンセプトがまさにぴったりの、ダイナミックで香ばしさやスモーキーさを感じつつも、全体的に調和の取れた料理がいただけます。食材の合わせ方が、とてもマレーシアらしく、驚きに満ちていました。イカのグリル、和牛チャーシューのクレイポットライス、とうもろこしのミルフィーユが特に気に入りました。
2時間ずつの２部制なので、ゆっくりしたい方は20時からのセッションがおすすめ。

Cotta is a café-restaurant that is sustainable and connects with the local community.
Located on the rooftop of the VERVE store in Mont Kiara, the signature ricotta cheese that gives the restaurant its name is handcrafted daily with the highest quality local pasteurized cow's milk and locally grown zesty lemons. The leaf lettuce for the salads is also grown in the restaurant, and the menu is full of healthy, simple, quality items.
We visited in the evening and found many delicious dishes to pair with wine, including Peruvian chicken seasoned with house-made Greek yogurt, Pasta with savory smoked mushrooms and ricotta, and Grilled cabbage with beet sauce. There is no charge to bring your own wine until a liquor license is issued, so buy your wine at Jaya Grocer's downstairs.

Ronnefeldt was founded in Frankfurt, Germany in 1823. It has a tradition of 202 years this year.
The tea brand is served in luxury hotels and restaurants in 80 countries around the world and is loved by many fans for its top quality and 350 varieties of tea.
I was invited to a tea pairing & tasting event by Jan Holzappel, owner of Ronnefeldt.
The six teas we enjoyed at the "Library" of the Ritz-Carlton, along with a classic afternoon tea, were like an invitation to a journey around the world, with different aromas and flavors, each with its own unique and wonderful taste. The marriage was perfect as the flavors were all very different.
Four of the six teas we were served were limited editions to celebrate the anniversary of Ronnefeldt. These can be tasted at the Ritz-Carlton lounge in May and June.
The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur lounge always offers 31 varieties of Ronnefeldt tea, the most popular being the Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur Blend, a tea available only here. The green oolong tea has a smooth, sweet aroma. It goes well with smoked salmon sandwiches.
