Launching Ceremony Y Space

I attended the grand opening ceremony of Y Space, a cultural destination in a renovated historic building.
Ground floor is Bakery Cafe and Select Shop, Upstairs is Event spaces with beautiful water paintings by Johorean Artists.
So Amazing ! 120years historic bungalow has been serving as a residence, Russian restaurant, School, and now a curated creative space!
It’s packed with Each age, deferent People’s memories!!
I think Having such a cultural place is really good for Johor Bahru.
Speech by Datuk Bandar Johor Bahru, Think City, and Founders were very meaningful and interesting.

歴史的建造物を改装した文化施設、Yスペースのグランドオープニングセレモニーに参加しました。
1階はベーカリーカフェとセレクトショップ、2階はイベントスペースで、ジョホール出身のアーティストによる美しい水彩画が飾られています。
120年の歴史を持つ美しいバンガローは、時代の移り変わりによって住居、ロシア料理店、学校として利用され、現在はキュレーションされたクリエイティブなスペースとして利用されています。
120年前は個人宅として使われ、60年前はロシアレストラン、30年前はアートスクールだったのです。その時代の人によってここに異なる思い出があるということに、歴史の壮大さを感じます。
このような文化的な場所があることは、ジョホールバルにとって本当に素晴らしいこと。
Datuk Bandar Johor Bahru、Think City、そして創設者のスピーチはとても有意義で興味深いものでした。

I attended Grand Opening Ceremony.
It’s Vegetarian Cafe with new concept.
This is a complex vegetarian café with a 南洋Kopitiam-like menu and Asian desserts.
Eletime, a vegetarian café that opened near Sutera Mall in 2019, serving hearty and tasty dishes for everyone, not just vegetarians.
It has survived the Covid period and relocated to Austin with a new concept.
The mee shams and nasi lemak with mushrooms and Omni meat were very tasty and the curry mee was excellent. The Asian desserts were not too sweet and could be finished even after the meal. Everything I had was delicious.

22 Hybrid Cafe のグランドオープニングセレモニーに出席しました。
ここは、複合的なベジタリアンカフェで、南洋風コピティアム的なメニューとアジアンデザートが楽しめるお店。
2019年にステラモール近くにオープンしたベジタリアンカフェのEletime。ベジタリアンだけでなく、誰でも楽しめる、ボリュームたっぷりでおいしい料理を出すお店が、コロナ時期を乗り越え、オースティンに移転して新しいコンセプトに生まれ変わりました。
きのこやOmni meat を添えたミーシャムやナシレマはとても美味しく、カリーミーは絶品でした。アジアンデザートは甘さ控えめで、食後でも完食できるほど。何をいただいてもおいしかったです。

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy, the MJCC2022 (Malaysia-Japan Cross-Cultural Integration Programme) was launched at Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan, with Tourism Malaysia and Johor Tourism etc as collaborative partners.
Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan is a high education college by government. The school offers five specialisations, including tourism hospitality and mechanical engineering.
The students gave us a great experience this time with the aim of building further friendly relations and cooperation with Japan through mutual cultural exchange in the future.
The cultural exchange started with the Malaysians wearing Japanese clothes and the Japanese wearing Malaysian clothes. This alone is already a joy.
Some of our friends had made new Malay clothes for this event today.
Together with Director Ts. Noor. Aidi and Ts. HJ Hamdan, we watched traditional dances and martial arts, played games, coloured batiks and for Japanese culture, there was an origami corner.
The food experience was a lively and enjoyable event with a tete-a-tete demonstration, a comparison of Malaysian and Japanese Mochi, and other dishes such as nasi lemak, satay and roti chanai.
The cultural exchange will deepen mutual understanding and further strengthen the friendship and trust between the two countries.
I feel very happy to be a part of such a bridge between Malaysia and Japan.

ルックイースト政策40周年を記念して、Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan にて、MJCC2022 (マレーシア-日本 異文化統合プログラム)が発足し、マレーシア観光局やジョホール観光局をコラボレートパートナーとして、それを祝うイベントが、開催されました。
Politeknik Ibrahim Sultanは、公立の職業専門学校。ツーリズムホスピタリティや機械工学など、5つの専門技術を学べる学校です。
今後、相互に文化交流を通じて、日本と更なる友好関係、協力体制を築き上げていこうということで、今回、学生さんが素晴らしい体験をさせてくれました。
マレーシアの皆さんが日本の服を着て、日本人がマレーシアの服を着るところから、文化交流がはじまっていました。これだけでも、既にもう嬉しい。何人かの友人は、今日のこのイベントのためにマレー服を新調してくれていました。
Director のTs.Noor. Aidi 氏とTs. HJ Hamdan 氏と共に、伝統的なダンスや武術を観たり、ゲームやバティックの色付けをしたり、日本の文化としては折り紙のコーナーもありました。
食の体験ではテタレの実演や、マレーシアと日本のお餅の食べ比べ、その他、ナシレマやサテーやロティチャナイを振る舞っていただき、賑やかで楽しいイベントでした。
文化交流から、お互いの理解が深まり、さらなる友好関係と信頼がより強化されるでしょう。
このようなマレーシアと日本の橋渡しの一端を担えることは、とても幸せに思います。
素晴らしいイベントの開催と招待をありがとうございました。

“The "Sape' Movement" an initiative to heighten the awareness of Borneo heritage, as well as improve the public perception of local arts, culture and musics.”
This time was very good timing.
My friend told me about held of this Borneo Cultural Event, workshop and concert. I really like to listen traditional instrument music. So decided to come here.
Sape is traditional lute carved from a single bole of wood, with many modern instruments reaching over a metre in length.
BORNEO traditional costume and instruments are all very first time to me.
Vivid, colourful, and wild.
The music and dance, which is often repetitive, was interesting, with elements somewhat reminiscent of Okinawa and Hawaii.

SAPE Movement とは、ボルネオ、サラワクの伝統的な文化、アート、音楽を伝えていこうというプロジェクトで、友人がそのコンサートがあると教えてくれた。
ミリ滞在中にコンサートがあるなんてグッドタイミング！こういう伝統的な音楽には興味があるので、すぐに行くことを決めました。
Sape は一本の木から彫られており、多くの現代楽器の長さは1メートルを超えているリュートの一種。
ボルネオの伝統衣装と楽器は、ほぼ初めて見るものでしたが、鮮やかでカラフルでワイルド。
繰り返しが多い音楽とダンスは、どこか沖縄やハワイを連想させる要素もあり、興味深かったです。
この機会をくれた友人のアラン、ありがとう！

My choice is this 5 star hotel facing the South China Sea.
It’s old ( open since 2005), big Resort hotel.
Location is convenient. Swimming pool is very big. Breakfast is tasty.
Room rate is affordable ( RM204-).
So it’s suitable for family vacation.
They don’t have any club lounge. Marriot Bonvoy (over platinum) member can get redeem card for 2 free drinks every day.

はじめてのサラワク州のミリへの旅行。
海に面した5つ星リゾートホテルのマリオットに5泊しました。
予約の際、価格の安さに驚きました。夜に到着すると、空港から近いものの辺りは暗く、大きくて古さのあるリゾートホテルだと思いましたが、朝になると窓からの景色は素晴らしい。かなり広いプールの奥には海が広がります。
シャワーブースはなく、バスタブにシャワーが付いているタイプ。クラブラウンジはありませんが、メンバーは毎日、ルームサービスやレストランで使えるドリンク2杯無料券がもらえます。
朝食はおいしく、レストランの外はプールが広がり、リゾート気分。
家族の休暇にはとてもよいホテルだと思いました。

Breakfast in the lounge overlooking the sea has not so many choices, but it is enough, wonderful and relaxed meal.
The omelette was perfectly cooked, with a melting inside.
If possible, I want to drink Fresh fruit or vegetable juices.

A large selection of dishes. Notable items on the menu include steamed cakoi with kaya jam and frozen yoghurt.
And, perhaps because of the French brand, I find the bread tasty in all Meridien hotels.

クラブフロアに宿泊している人は、クラブラウンジ（14階）か、ロビー階のメインダイニングレストランのどちらかで朝食をとることができます。
私は4泊していたので、どちらにも行ってみました。
雰囲気をとるか、品数をとるか。個人的には、混みすぎないラウンジでの食事がより快適だと思いました。

オムレツは中がとろとろで完璧な焼き加減でした。

たくさんの品揃え。特筆すべきメニューは、蒸したチャコイ(油条)のカヤジャム添えと、フローズンヨーグルト。
それと、フランスの系列だからか、どこのメリディアンでもパンはおいしいと感じます。

15-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu Airport. Overlooking the sea, this 5-star hotel is in a prime location.
The view from the upper floors and club lounge is of the ocean. The sunsets from here and from the rooftop bar are also spectacular.
The market, seafood market and Filipino market are all in front of the hotel, which is very lively and offers fresh and tasty seafood dishes at extremely low prices.
We stayed in a suite this time (4 nights) and it was spacious, clean and comfortable.
The view of the sea changes with time and you never get tired of it, so much so that you want to stay in your room forever.
The cocktail hour selection in the club lounge was good and tasty.
Breakfast can be served either in the restaurant on the lobby floor or in the club lounge.
If I have require, The only thing is I want fresh juice at breakfast.

コタキナバル空港から車で15分。海を望むこの5つ星ホテルは、最高の立地です。
上階やクラブラウンジからの景色は一面の海。ここやルーフトップバーからの夕陽がまた素晴らしい。
目の前には市場、海鮮市場、フィリピーノマーケットが連なり、活気に溢れ、新鮮で美味い海鮮料理がものすごく安く食べることができます。
今回はスイートに宿泊しましたが(4泊)、広くて清潔で快適でした。
時間と共に変化する海の眺めは飽きることがなく、ずっと部屋にいたくなるほど。
クラブラウンジでのカクテルタイムの品揃えは良かったし、おいしかった。
朝食はロビー階のレストランかクラブラウンジ、どちらでも選べます。
唯一残念だったのは、朝食時にフレッシュジュースがなかったことくらい。

このカフェは、1963年創業のカリフォルニアのブランドです。1997年にマレーシアで最初の店舗（KLプラザ）をオープンしてから、25年後の現在では、マレーシア全土で127店舗を展開しています。
JBの最初の店舗はシティスクエアです。1999年にオープンして以来、現在も店舗は存続しています。
今回、25周年記念イベントに参加してきました。クイズがあったりと、和やかで楽しいイベントでした。
新メニュー（10月4日スタート！）を試食しましたが、25周年を記念したグッズやフードのテーマカラーはパープル。これはロゴの色でもあり、新しいストローの色でもあります。(柔らかくなってしまう紙のストローから、食品由来のしっかりとしたストローに変わりました。)
サツマイモ、ヤムイモ、ココナッツを使った紫色の食べ物は優しい甘さで美味しいです。
そして、新しいドリンクには、かぼちゃのフレーバーがいろいろ。
パープルパスポートのスタンプを集めると、商品が抽選で当たるキャンペーン実施中。

It has been a long time since I stayed at a hotel in Desaru.
The Four Points by Sheraton Desaru was also busy with many guests.
The rooms are spacious, simple and clean, minimalist but with an espresso machine in each room.
The swimming pool, gym and reserved games room are also popular.
The restaurant focuses on coffee, tea and cocktails.
It was just the night of a cocktail event, and the creative cocktails by guest mixologists and soothing music by a DJ attracted regular local customers as well as tourists.

久しぶりのデサルのホテル滞在。
フォーポインツバイシェラトンデサルもたくさんのお客で賑わっていました。
広くてシンプルで清潔な部屋、ミニマムだけどエスプレッソマシーンが各部屋にあり、ゆったりと過ごせます。
プールやジムや予約制のゲームルームも人気。
レストランではコーヒーや紅茶、カクテルにこだわっています。
ちょうどカクテルイベントが行われた夜でしたが、ゲストミクソロジストによるクリエイティブなカクテルとDJによる心地よい音楽は、観光客だけでなく、地元のレギュラーカスタマーをも魅了していました。

ニューヨークホテルの左手にあり、専用駐車場もあります。
一口いただくと、「あ、おいしい！」と感じる絶妙なバランスの味付け。冷凍品は使わず新鮮な食材のみ使用で、すべてのソース類も自家製。
ここは2002年にスタートしてから20年間、オーナーもシェフも変わらないそう。
フードはハラルだけどビールはあります。夜は超満員。
