Handicraft Market ( Filipino Market )
@ Kota Kinabaru, Sabah
No Pork, No Lard
Nice meet you Kota Kinabaru!
I went there!
How interesting place!
A seaside market selling seafood, handmade souvenirs and pearl products. They say it's also known as the Filipino Market.
Really fun and tasty place!
There is a wide variety of fresh seafood, which is sold raw or grilled over charcoal. You can even eat it on the spot. There was also a chicken BBQ.
The savoury seafood was grilled and served with a spicy-sweet sauce. The sea grapes and sauce are great.
And the prices are quite cheap. A large tuna fillet was RM15 (approx. RM450). Compared to other seafood markets in JB, Juhai (China), Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, I thought the selection and prices were the best. They can be ordered cooked in a variety of ways, in addition to charcoal-grilled.
Just a three-minute walk from the hotel we're staying at, I'd eat there every day!
Next to the seafood market is a market selling handmade souvenirs and pearl products. Ideal for buying souvenirs in bulk. Interesting to look at.
