Xishuangbanna Kitchen 西双版纳厨房 @ Molek, JB
Non halal
Wah. It’s my first time experience.
It’s 雲南Yun nan dishes restaurant !
Maybe it’s only 1 in JB. Had you tried Xishuangbanna cuisine?
Yunnan cuisine is the result of the fusion and refinement of the cuisines of the 25 ethnic minorities living in the province and the Han Chinese (especially Sichuan). Xishuangbanna is the name of the region. Since this place is also close to Laos and Thailand, the flavors of those regions are also fused together.
This is a restaurant where the owner, a Johorian, and his wife, a native of Yunnan Province, serve as chefs.
First of all, I was surprised at the volume of one dish, which is enough for about six people.
Many of the dishes were new to me, but the beef soup with aromatic vegetables was addictive. The chicken and flower soup, which is common in Yunnan, is a seasonal dish only available when there are flowers. The dish of sour greens (sour pickles) and fish, a favorite of all Chinese Malaysians, was very tasty. Overall, the food is characterized by spicy dishes.
All ingredients are carefully selected and purchased every morning by the chef.
