You will know now Omakase is something restaurant’s trend category in Malaysia. But now there are too many !!
It's hard to know which one to choose. It's not cheap, and you definitely don't want to be disappointed. I agree. I am the same way.
This Sky35 is truly a great restaurant with a great experience.
A restaurant for people who know (and want to know) how good the real thing is.
The ambiance, the décor, the views, the plates, the cutlery, they are all top-notch, but more importantly, the chef who has excellent technique and takes the search for delicious, fresh ingredients and cooking methods to the extreme.
Executive Chef John is a talented chef. I have known his cooking for several years now and it has always surprised and impressed me and given me a real delicious and happy experience.
Right now, the concept of Sky35's cuisine is "be creative with the hot dishes and go back to the roots with the sushi." Everything was very tasty. We want real good food. We don't want to eat "food that looks gorgeous just for show," we want to eat "real tasty food.”
In that sense, I thought this place was a step ahead of the locally run omakase restaurants in Malaysia.
Appetizers tailored to appetizing textures, seasonal fish that is best just grilled is simply grilled (but I was impressed that the bones of the sweetfish were removed!) The sushi was in the Edo-mae style, but with different rice to match the flavors of the ingredients, and the best match of textures and flavors could be felt everywhere in the course.
