Dewars Highball Challenge 2023 announcement ceremony

Congratulations to the winners of the Dewar's Highball Challenge!
The Dewar's Highball challenge is held annually in five countries in the ASEAN region.
The challenge is to create two highball cocktails using Dewar's, a Scotch whisky founded in Scotland in 1846, and the winners are chosen by scoring their tastes and overall appeal.
Today, I attended the event where the Malaysian winner was announced.
The winner was Ms. Chang Shuen of Bar COLEY. She will receive a plane ticket to Japan, a guest shift experience at a Japanese bar, and a cash prize worth US$1,000.
The event was held at Burger & Lobster in KLCC, where guests enjoyed lobster rolls or burgers and Dewar's 15-year highballs.
Dewar's 15 Year is a blend of more than 40 different types of whiskey, mainly Aberfeldy, aged for more than 15 years. Its sweet, gorgeous aroma and smooth taste can be enjoyed straight or as a highball, and it is so delicious that I could drink it all the time.
In fact, for this year's Highball Challenge, I visited three bars as an undercover judge to score the highballs. It was an interesting and wonderful experience.

Tasting Notes:
Aroma: A good balance of Sherried spices, nutty elements and apple skin.
Palate: Oily walnut leading into fresh malt and sultanas. Chewy vanilla toffee.
Finish: More sweet dried fruit notes with touch of grassiness.
