Gai Express by Darren Chin @ TTDI, KL
No Pork, No Lard
Located in TTDI, this casual Thai restaurant by Michelin award-winning chef Darren Chin offers a simple menu of noodle dishes that can be enjoyed by one person, and the spiciness is generally kept to a minimum. It is Muslim-friendly.
The signature dishes are Khao Soi (Chiang Mai's famous curry noodles) and Keuy Teow soup, a clear broth.
Khao soi offers two different textures of noodles, boiled and crispy fried, and is filled with tender meat. The coconut milk-based red curry soup is not so spicy, and a squeeze of lime gives the soup a full flavor. The food is high quality, carefully prepared, and refined, as expected from a restaurant supervised by Chef Darren Chin!
The food is halal, but it is nice to know that Singha beer is available.
