40th Anniversary Culinary Journey @ Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur
Congratulations! Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur celebrated its 40th anniversary yesterday, September 19.
To celebrate, a special "culinary journey" touring the hotel's restaurants was held, and I was invited.
The journey began at Horizon Lounge. Veuve Clicquot champagne was poured into champagne glasses arranged to spell out the number 40. We toasted with a greeting from General Manager Daniel. Moving to Zipangu, we enjoyed three exquisite appetizers by Chef Takizawa, paired with the Japanese sake "Kubota". Next, at Shang Palace, we enjoyed an exquisite soup and fish dish by Chef Keith, paired with Chablis 1er Cru white wine. At Arthur's Bar & Grill, after commentary by Executive Chef Scott, we savored red wine and a 28-day dry-aged steak. The finale was at Lemon Garden, featuring a lemon-themed dessert buffet and coffee.
Every restaurant featured beautiful table settings, making it a delicious and luxurious experience. We received a cute 40th anniversary cupcake as a souvenir.
As one of its fans, I sincerely hope the beloved Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur continues to make history and thrive for many years to come.
