Have you heard of Minnan cuisine?
It refers to the traditional cuisine of the southern Fujian region of China (primarily Xiamen, Quanzhou, and Zhangzhou). Characterized by its abundance of seafood, this coastal area features many port towns. Located just across from Taiwan, it is considered the origin of Taiwanese cuisine. In Malaysia, it has become established as Hokkien cuisine.
This time, Le Mei welcomes guest chef Lou Qiqi from FU GONG Restaurant at Sheraton Grand Xiamen. For two weeks, you can enjoy these authentic Minnan dishes.
The lineup includes rice with crab roe, traditionally served at weddings and other celebrations; slow-simmered beef short rib soup; and winter specialties like ginger-braised duck.

Minnan ( 閩南)料理をご存知ですか?
中国福建省の南部地方(主に廈門〈アモイ〉・泉州・漳州)を中心とする地域の伝統料理のことで、ここは海に面した港町が多く、海産物を豊富に使うのが特徴。ちょうど台湾の対岸あたりの地域で、台湾料理のルーツと言われています。マレーシアではホッケン料理として定着。
今回、Sheraton Grand Xiamenの FU GONG レストランから、ゲストシェフ Lou Qiqi をお迎えして、2週間の間、これらの本格Minnan 料理が食べられます。
結婚式などおめでたいシーンでいただく子持ち蟹のご飯や、じっくり煮込まれた牛のショートリブスープ、冬の時期の名物、鴨の生姜煮など、一品揃い。
