AZABU X GRAND HYATT KL Sake, Uni & Caviar Tasting Dinner @At Level 5 The Hidden Place, Grand Hyatt KL No Pork, No Lard What a special evening! A sushi omakase dinner for just eight guests at a time, in a hidden location within the hotel. This weekend-only collaboration between Grand Hyatt and Sushi Azabu begins with a welcome drink on the 38th floor, followed by a move to the 5th floor. There, a spot-lit counter with only eight seats appears in a space not usually open to hotel guests. Chef Markey (Masaki Arakawa) of Sushi Azabu presents an authentic Edo-mae sushi course. Using fish from Toyosu market, he slices with a sword-like knife right in front of you. Watching his precise movements is almost as special as tasting the sushi itself. The sake pairing includes a Nigori aperitif and three types of sake served freely throughout the meal. Alcohol-free options are also available. Chef Markey, likely the only Japanese-Muslim sushi chef in the world, creates traditional flavors without alcohol. Come and share this unforgettable dinner with someone special! I had the early summer kaiseki (Natsu Kaiseki) omakase course, which can be enjoyed from June to August. The chef's delicate sense of beauty is evident in the ayu fish somen, which is boned and grilled to a crispy, savory perfection. Sashimi from the Toyosu market is fresh. The hot dish is a Malaysian favorite, beef ribs, braised for 8 hours, which is a dynamic and brilliant change in the impression of the course.
