This local restaurant opened two months ago in Mount Austin's Shop Lot.
The menu lineup like kopitiam, including Nasi lemak, KL curry mee, Mee hoon, Fried rice, Sandwiches, Pasta etc., are all handmade by the lady boss. The taste is homey.
It should be noted that these menu items are also available in the evening and they serve beer!!
Ikan bakar (grilled seafood coated with danbar) is spicy and a perfect accompaniment to beer.
The most popular dish is Penang Assam Laksa. I particularly enjoyed the mee hoon, Vietnamese noodles, and fried vegetable cakes (a kind of crispy vegetable pancake).
This is a casual place to stop by from morning till night.

オースティンのショップロットに2ヶ月前にオープンしたローカルレストラン。
ナシレマ、KLカリーミー、ミーフン、フライドライスやサンドウィッチ、パスタなど、コピティアムのようなメニューラインナップは全て女性オーナーによる手作り。家庭的な味わいです。特筆すべきことは、これらのメニューが夜もいただけることと、ビールを提供していること。
イカンバカー(魚介類にダンバルを塗って焼く料理)はスパイシーでビールのお供にもぴったり。
1番人気はペナンアッサムラクサだそう。私はミーフンとベトナムヌードル、フライドベジタブルケーキ(野菜のクリスピーなチヂミのようなもの)が特においしいと思いました。
朝から夜まで気軽に立ち寄れるお店です。

The spacious lobby, the dignified air and subtle good smells, the panoramic sea view when you enter the room, the fluffy slippers.
I stayed two nights at the Ascott Gurney Penang, an apartment hotel located on Gurney Drive in Penang.
The executive room is very comfortable with a spacious living room, a bright bedroom, and a bathtub with an ocean view.
I liked it very much.
I had an image that the Ascott series are simple hotels with only rooms, but this is the only hotel in Malaysia that has a bar and restaurant inside the hotel.
The restaurant and bar menu prices start from RM20, so it is suitable for everyday use.
In addition to the pool, gym, yoga room, and residence lounge, there is a very well-equipped kids' room and children's pool.
Although it seems like a beautiful and simple hotel for adults, it is also a place where families can fully enjoy themselves.
Breakfast is a delight, with many varieties of dim sum and elaborate menus such as beancurd desserts.
The location is very convenient as it is attached to a shopping mall with many convenience store, restaurants, and cafes.

ペナンのガーニードライブに位置するアパートメントホテル、アスコットガーニーペナンに2泊しました。
エグゼグティブルームは、ゆったりしたリビングに、明るいベッドルーム、オーシャンビューのバスタブがついて、とても快適。
すごく気に入りました。
アスコット系列は、部屋のみのシンプルなホテルというイメージがありましたが、ここは唯一、ホテル内にバーやレストランが入っています。
レストランやバーのメニューの価格もRM20からと普段使いにできる感じ。
プールやジム、ヨガルームやレジデンスラウンジの他、キッズルームや子供用プールがとても充実しています。
美しくシンプルな大人向けのホテルと思いきや、家族も存分に楽しめる場所。
朝食は、飲茶の種類が多かったり、豆花デザートなどの趣向を凝らしたメニューも多くて嬉しい。
ショッピングモールに併設しているので、コンビニやレストラン、カフェもたくさんあってとても便利な立地。

It’s by Pastry Chef Jeffery Tan.
It was available for pre-order in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, but this is probably the first cafe where you can eat in.
Maybe the most expensive cake in Malaysia.
A small single-serving cake costs RM46!
Beautiful design, combination of different textures and a delicate, fine taste. It was a very, very delicious cake.
No wonder there are so many fans of this quality.
However, the teapot is difficult to use due to the emphasis on design. The position of the handle made it too hot to pour, which was disappointing. I wish they would pay more attention to details like this.

ペストリーシェフのJeffery Tanによるもので、クアラルンプールとペナンで予約販売が行われていましたが、イートインできるカフェはおそらくここが初。
おそらく、マレーシアでもっとも高級なケーキだと思います。小さな1人前のケーキがRM46！(約¥1380！)
美しいデザイン、異なる食感の組み合わせと、繊細で上質な味わい。とてもとても美味しいケーキでした。
ファンが多いのも頷けるクオリティです。
ただ、ティーポットはデザイン重視で使いづらい。取っ手の位置により、熱くて注げない形で残念でした。こういう細かいところにもこだわってほしい。

I stayed at 3 bedroom at this residences. It’s something service apartment for 1day yo 1year long stay.

I had a room on the 27th floor and the view was just amazing!!
The ocean is everywhere and you can see it from every room!

Michelin 1 star (2023) restaurant.
It’s Nyonya restaurant since 2013. boss’s mother “ Auntie Gaik Lean” is 4th generation Nyonya who picked up her Nyonya cooking skills at the age of 12 years old.
I tried to make reservation by Website. But it was full. I couldn’t catch them by WhatsApp message or call. So I came to this restaurant just opening time 6pm.
(I hoped that since I was alone, they might let me in.)
The boss made a seat for me, and as I finished ordering, there was a single customer just one seat next to me who had jumped in and ordered just like me, so we hit it off and decided to share our food. Glad to get a lot of variety. Interesting experience！
All the dishes were very delicately and carefully prepared and I especially liked the nasi ulam (herbed rice), chicken Lor Bak and Pie Tee. The person I dined with raved about the eggplant seasoned with sambal.
Delicious nyonya cuisine served in a beautiful retro setting. It was a very satisfying dinner.

ミシュラン1つ星（2023年）のレストランです。
ボスのお母さん「Auntie Gaik Lean」はニョニャの4世で、12歳の時にニョニャ料理の技術を習得したそうです。
ホームページで予約しようとしたのですが、満席でした。WhatsAppのメッセージや電話でも予約が取れませんでした。そこで、開店時間の午後6時すぎにこのレストランにやってきました。(1人だから入れてもらえるかもしれないと期待しました。)
ボスは席を作ってくれて、オーダーを済ませると、ちょうどひとつ横の席に私と同じように飛び込みでやってきてオーダーしている1人客がいたので、意気投合し、料理をシェアすることにしました。たくさんの種類をいただけて嬉しい。面白い経験。
どの料理もとても繊細に丁寧に作られていて、ナシウラム(ハーブライス)や鶏肉のロバック、パイティーを特に気に入りました。一緒に食事した方は、サンバルで味付けした茄子を絶賛していました。
レトロで美しい空間でいただくおいしいニョニャ料理。大満足のディナーでした。

Behind the compact front desk, the beautiful sea and sky suddenly appear. It is as if you are in another world.
You can enjoy the atmosphere of a resort with a private beach and swimming pool, yet you can stay in a room from RM240 per room.
I stayed in a superior ocean view room. The large window opens to the ocean, and when you lie down on the bed, the sky is all around you. Very relaxing.
There is a rocky beach right off the beach, so if you bring your own equipment, you are allowed fishing. There were countless shells on the beach.
There is a convenience store in the building next door and several reputable restaurants conveniently located within a 3 minute walk. The place was crowded with families.

Classic Chinese design with greens. Very comfortable place.
We can enjoy authentic Chinese tea and dim sum. Some dim sum is fusion style.
Price range is high side. We ordered 8 dim sums and 2 drinks. Total around RM200. But Value for visit!
Menu have Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese language.
So easy to order for tourists too.

ペナンのジョージタウンにある中国茶と飲茶レストラン。以前何かで知ってから、その美しい内装に、訪れてみたいと思っていました。
クラシックな中国式のゴージャスさとグリーンが合わさった空間は、とても美しく落ち着きます。
典型的な飲茶もありますが創作系もいろいろ。価格は全体的に高め。お茶はポットでの提供のみで、RM48〜。
ですが一度は来てみる価値のあるお店。
メニューには日本語や韓国語もあるので、観光客でもオーダーしやすいです。

Yes! It’s 2nd Outlet of FirePitz in JB.
This time, my Penang trip’s main purpose is to visit this restaurant.
The venue is very convenient place. Elegant atmosphere with Open fire kitchen.
Now most of menu is same with FirePitz JB. There are Miso Fish Cheek, Beef Steak, Burnt Caesar Salad too.
And Only Penang’s special dishes also very tasty.
Cooking with charcoal brings back the authentic flavour.
Rich and flagrant Tomato soup, Charred White Sweet Corn is good combination of texture, Mushroom pasta have amazing balance of umami and garlic.
Anyway please try first! You will like the tastes. Hospitality also very good!

JBにあるFirePitzの2号店が、ペナンのジョージタウンにオープンしました。
その名もFirewood。便利な場所で、オープンファイヤーキッチンを備えた広くてエレガントな直火焼きレストラン。
炭火で焼く料理は、香ばしくて食材の味が生きていておいしい。
今回のペナン旅の主な目的はこのレストランに来ることでした。
現在、ほとんどのメニューはJBの店と同じで、味わいも一緒。
ペナン店のみのメニューも素晴らしかった。
隠し味のきいた、濃厚なトマトスープには炙ったバジルがアクセント。ホワイトコーンは甘さとチーズの塩気、食感の組み合わせがよく、マッシュルームのパスタはキノコの旨味とガーリックのバランスが絶妙。
サービスも気が利いていて良かったです。ペナンの方にも是非試して欲しいお店。メニューは今後さらに増やして進化させていくそうです。

I will enjoy Jalan Jalan and Makan !
First, I walked George Town.
Watched street arts, had street food “ Char Kuih Teow”.
There are so many shops in the beautiful historic building that it is hard to know where to go in.

Interesting! Healthy!
7年ぶり2度目、ほぼはじめてのペナン旅行。
そぞろ歩きと食を楽しみに。
まずは定番のジョージタウンのストリートアートを見て、屋台でチャークイティアオを食べました。
美しい歴史的建造物内のお店がたくさんあり、どこに入ろうか迷います。
ペナンの警官は自転車に乗っていました。

An Exclusive Gastronomy Festival
“The Prosperous Garden of Hei”

I attended a gorgeous event by Hennessy.
It’s like Chinese New Year After-Party!
This is an invitational event that starts in JB and also takes place in Penang and KL.
The first thing I receive is a heavy coin to use this event.
I enter the venue with a panel explaining Hennessy's history and its 150-year involvement in Malaysia and its work with the artist who designed the limited-edition bottle.
Hennessy landed in Malaysia in 1868, when 100 cases of cognac were brought to Penang.
And then I visit several booths where I can redeem coins for Hennessy X.O, its cocktails and canapés.
In addition, coins can be used to play slot-like games and there are booths with people who can tell my fortune.
Hennessy X.O is made from a blend of around 100 original liquor from grapes from the top four Cognac regions. It expresses a style that is rich, powerful and extremely smooth.
The Hennessy X.O on the rocks was extremely aromatic, smooth to drink and delicious. I also loved the three limited edition cocktails with Hennessy X.O.
We all took the Covid test before entering the venue. I hope there will be more of these glamorous events.

ヘネシーのゴージャスなイベントに参加。
いわば、アフターチャイニーズニューイヤーパーティー。これはJBからスタートとして、ペナンとKLでも行われる招待イベント。
最初に、この会場で使う、ずっしりと重いコインをいただきました。
ヘネシーの歴史とマレーシアでの150年もの関わりや、限定ボトルをデザインしたアーティストとの取り組みの説明パネルを見ながら会場に入ります。
ヘネシーがマレーシアに上陸したのが1868年で、この時は、100ケースのコニャックがペナンに運ばれたとか。
いくつかのブースで、コインと引き換えに、ヘネシーX.Oやそのカクテル、カナッペ類がいただけます。
さらにコインでスロットのようなゲームができたり、運勢を占ってくれる方がいるブースがあったり。(この先10年はマレーシアで稼ぐって占ってもらって嬉しかった♪)
ヘネシーXOは、コニャック地方の上位4地区のブドウによる約100種類の原酒がブレンドされて作られています。リッチでパワフル、かつ極めて滑らかなスタイルが表現されています。
ヘネシーX.Oをロックでいただくと、ものすごく香り高くて飲みやすくておいしかったです。コニャックでもこんなに飲みやすいというのはちょっと嬉しい驚き。3種の限定カクテルも大好き。
今回のイベントでは、全員コロナテストを受けてから会場に入りました。こういう華やかなイベントが増えてくるといいですね。

5つ星、シスルホテルのドライブスルーとデリバリー。8種のメニューがあり、選べるソフトドリンクかお水がついて税込RM19.9。もはやホテルのごはんの料金としては安すぎます。
8種のうち4種をいただきました。
チキンパルミジャーノバーガーは、ものすごい大きさで、ジューシーなチキン、トマトソース、とろけるモッツァレラチーズがサンド。1番人気なのが頷けます。
ラムスープは、自宅で作らないメニューなので、オススメ。厚切りトースト添え。臭みがまったくなくお肉がたっぷり。スープというよりシチューの濃厚さ。
辛いもの好きな方には、ナシゴレンと甘辛ローストチキン。食べ応えあります。
定番メニューのチキンチョップは、海南風で甘酢のあんかけがかかっています。付け合わせの野菜のグリルもいい感じ。
どれもボリュームたっぷりで、お皿に盛り付けるだけでしっかりとしたディナーになります。昼も夜も、毎日オーダーできます。

Sometimes we are encouraged by the smallest words. They can be inspiring.
When I opened plastic bag of food delivery, suddenly some words come in my sight.
Here is Kopitiam located in 2nd floor.
We can enjoy heartwarming local Kopitiam foods.
Their Nasi Lemak Special with fried chicken set RM16.9 is very good. Sambal is not too spicy.
And I recommend 2nd Floor Fried Bee Hoon set RM15.9. It is filled with many ingredients such as chicken, shrimp and fish cakes.

フライドビーフンは具沢山。
パッケージに、ちょっとした言葉が書いてあるラベルが貼ってあり、オーナーの「人々を元気付けたい」という気持ちが嬉しい。
オーソドックスなコピティアムフードですが、こういう心遣いがあるとファンになります。
