Gen Yakiniku Dining Bar opened in Changkat, Bukit Bintang as the first overseas branch of a company that operates various restaurants in Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, Japan. The vivid interior is eye-catching, but the food is authentic and tastes Japanese. Everything I ate was delicious.
The most popular "Gen Treasure Box" is a platter of three kinds of beef, including A5 Wagyu from Miyazaki and Wagyu from Australia.
Wagyu Carpaccio, Wagyu Tartare, and Claypot Rice with Wagyu and Ikura are also must-order items. Yakitori, sushi rolls, and an extensive izakaya menu are also available to suit your purpose.
Happy hour starts at 4:00 p.m. Private rooms are available upstairs for events.
They are opening lunch time too. It’s nice restaurant.

岡山県の倉敷でさまざまな飲食店を経営する会社が、海外一号店としてブキビンタンのチャンカットにオープンしたGen 焼肉ダイニングバー。ビビッドな内装に目がいきますが、料理は本格的で日本の味。何を食べても美味しかったです。
1番人気の「Gen宝箱」は宮崎産A5和牛とオーストラリア産和牛など3種の盛り合わせ。
和牛カルパッチョや和牛ユッケ、和牛とイクラの土鍋ご飯も絶対にオーダーしたいメニュー。焼き鳥やロール寿司、居酒屋メニューも充実しているので、目的に合わせて使い分けられます。お得なハッピーアワーは午後4時からスタート。2階に上がると個室もあり、イベントなどにも使用できます。ランチも営業していて、いいお店。

A deli restaurant where you can choose from a selection of meats, sausages, and seafood lined up on the counter and have them cooked for you.
The food menu is simple, just on a blackboard.
Sri Damansara and this new store at Sunway Velocity 2 are so popular that reservations are hard to come by on weekends.
I like this style of restaurant and have been going to similar places for a while, but the signature here is the whole parmigiano pasta, which is made right in front of you. Almost every customer orders it. There is a large selection of wines by the bottle and the prices are generally reasonable.

We ordered mainly from the signature menu.
Tom Yum Cooler is a refreshing soda with a clean sour taste that I just love. I enjoyed the salad with fun textures and The kampong chicken stir-fried with Thai basil. Tom Yum Kung has a sweet side taste.

The Ramadan buffet at the InterContinental has many beautifully arranged dishes, which heightened my expectations.
“santai-santai" is a Malay word meaning a relaxed activity or state of being. Led by Executive Chef Rudy Junaidie, the team encourages guests to unwind and reconnect with loved ones with exquisite cuisine.
I really enjoyed the unusual dishes such as Gulai Asam Rong, a Perak dish that even my Malay friends encountered for the first time, and whole roasted lamb seasoned with cumin and other spices from Xinjiang.

「santai-santai」はゆったりとした活動や状態を意味するマレー語。エグゼクティブシェフRudy Junaidie率いるチームが、極上の料理でゲストがくつろぎ、大切な人たちとの絆を取り戻すことを後押しします。

The Ramadan buffet at the InterContinental has many beautifully arranged dishes, which heightened my expectations.
“santai-santai" is a Malay word meaning a relaxed activity or state of being. Led by Executive Chef Rudy Junaidie, the team encourages guests to unwind and reconnect with loved ones with exquisite cuisine.
I really enjoyed the unusual dishes such as Gulai Asam Rong, a Perak dish that even my Malay friends encountered for the first time, and whole roasted lamb seasoned with cumin and other spices from Xinjiang.

「santai-santai」はゆったりとした活動や状態を意味するマレー語。エグゼクティブシェフRudy Junaidie率いるチームが、極上の料理でゲストがくつろぎ、大切な人たちとの絆を取り戻すことを後押しします。
マレー人の友人でさえはじめて出会ったというペラ州の料理「Gulai Asam Rong」や、新疆ウイグル自治区のクミンなどのスパイスで味付けしたラムの丸焼きなど、珍しい料理がとてもよかったです。

I stayed three nights at the JW Marriott Medan, which is reputed to be the best hotel in Medan.
There are no tall buildings around, so the panoramic view from the rooms is breathtaking. The rooms are spacious and the gym is open 24 hours. Convenient location to go anywhere. Breakfast is a wide selection. Staff was always smiling and hospitality was good.
The executive round is very spacious but not a relaxing or working atmosphere as there is very little sofa seating. It is more like a place for afternoon tea and cocktail hour. The selection of food at cocktail hour was very good and tasty. I would stay here again when I come to Medan.

周りに高い建物がないので、パノラマビューの部屋からの景色は圧巻。部屋は広く、ジムは24時間オープン。どこに行くにも便利な立地。朝食はインドネシア料理を中心に幅広いラインナップ。スタッフは常に笑顔でホスピタリティも良かったです。
エグゼクティブラウンドはとても広いのですが、ソファー席がほとんどないのでくつろいだり仕事をしたりする雰囲気ではありません。アフタヌーンティーとカクテルタイムのために利用する場所という感じ。カクテルタイムの料理の品揃えが豊富で、おいしく、とても良かったです。メダンに来たらまたここに宿泊したいです。

Common Folks PosBloc @ Medan, Indonesia
The century-old post office building, created in 1911, opened in 2023 as the commercial center Pos Bloc Medan.
It houses a postal museum and several cafes.
One of these cafes, Common Folks, offers everything from light meals to homemade sweets. The atmosphere is simple and relaxing, the coffee and food are delicious, and there is a special set meal from 3 pm that includes bread and sweets and a choice of coffee. The total cost for coffee, sweets, rice bowl and sandwich for two people was about RM60 (2000Yen).
Along the same street, there are several buildings from the colonial era, such as Bank Indonesia and the Old City Hall. It is an 8-minute walk from JW Marriott where we are staying.

1911年に作られた、100年以上の歴史ある郵便局の建物が、2023年に商業施設Pos Blocとしてオープン。
中には郵便博物館と、いくつかのカフェが入っています。
そのうちの一つ、Common Folks は軽食から自家製スイーツまであるカフェ。シンプルで落ち着く雰囲気で、コーヒーもフードも美味しかったです。15時からパンやスイーツと選べるコーヒーのお得なセットもあり。価格もお手頃でとても良いカフェでした。2人分のコーヒー、スイーツ、丼とサンドウィッチで合計RM60(¥2000)程度。
同じ通り沿いには、Bank Indonesia や旧市庁舎など植民地時代からの建物がいくつかあります。宿泊しているJW Marriott から徒歩8分。
