"Roast & Coffee," a popular kopi tiam in Johor Bahru, has just opened a new location at SKS City Mall JBCC. With seven branches already in JB, this brand was built by three sisters who carried on their family recipes, offering a modern take on traditional Nanyang kopi tiam culture. It’s so popular that there’s always a line out the door.
The rich laksa and biryani served with tender chicken rendang are particularly popular. You also can’t miss the salted chicken with fried rice or the kaya butter sandwich with homemade kaya jam. If you find the Teh (black tea) incredibly aromatic and delicious, it’s because they blend it with Earl Grey. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious.
At SKS City Mall, their signature fresh-baked bread is now available. It makes the perfect souvenir. Their kaya jam and brownie cookies are truly delicious, so be sure to pick some up when you visit.

The all-day dining at Aloft Langkawi Hotel. With its bright, modern, and casual atmosphere, breakfast on the open-air al fresco seating overlooking the pool and the Andaman Sea is a delightful experience.
This time, we enjoyed not only breakfast but also the à la carte menu for lunch and dinner, as well as the buffet on Saturday nights.

À la carte Menu
I was pleased with the well-balanced selection of international and Malaysian dishes, offering plenty of choices. The snacks and appetizers were also impressive, including fusion salmon nori tacos, fried shrimp served with mango salsa and wasabi mayo, and tender calamari.
The clubhouse sandwiches and hamburgers were incredibly hearty.

Breakfast Buffet
Colorful and with a wide variety of options. I also appreciated that the menu changes daily. I thought the Indian-style dishes were particularly impressive. The dosas and several types of chutneys, such as beetroot, were very tasty. A great, energizing start to the morning.

Dinner Buffet
This was the Mother’s Day Tomahawk Themed Buffet. The seafood selection was abundant, and the quality of the grilled tomahawk and lamb was excellent. Among the various sauces served, the garlic-infused chimichurri was particularly delicious. Overall, the food was delicious and the variety was satisfying.

今回、朝食だけでなく、ランチとディナーにアラカルトメニュー、そして土曜夜にはビュッフェも楽しみました。

アラカルト
インターナショナル料理とマレーシア料理のバランスもよく、たくさんのチョイスがあるのが嬉しい。ヒュージョンのサーモンノリタコスやマンゴーサルサとわさびマヨでいただく海老フライ、柔らかいカラマリなどのスナック、アペタイザーも充実していました。
クラブハウスサンドやハンバーガーはものすごいボリューム感。

ブレックファーストビュッフェ
カラフルで品揃えも豊富。日替わりでメニューが変わるのも嬉しい。インド系の料理が特に充実していると思いました。ビーツなど数種のチャツネとドーサがとてもおいしい。エナジー溢れるいい朝のスタート。

ディナービュッフェ
この時のテーマはマザーズデイ、トマホークビュッフェ。シーフードメニューのセレクションも豊富で、トマホークとラムのグリルの質が高く、数種添えられたソースの中でもガーリックの効いたチミチュリが秀逸でした。

The menu is crafted by Chef Simone Fraternali, who was born and raised in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy and has honed his skills at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants. It features an abundance of fresh seafood and herbs. The pasta—including ravioli, gnocchi, pappardelle, and fusilli—is handmade in-house daily and is surprisingly authentic. It’s so delicious that you’ll want to mop up every last drop of sauce with bread. Let’s do “La Scarpetta”! (This refers to the act of using bread to wipe up the remaining sauce on your plate, a part of Italian food culture that encourages instinctive enjoyment without formalities.)
The lemon butter prawn tagliolini and the seafood soup are of such high quality that you’d be hard-pressed to find anything comparable in Malaysia. The light desserts are also quite nice. They offer a variety of à la carte dishes that are perfect for sharing. Available for both lunch and dinner.

The Brasserie, a Michelin-Selected restaurant located within the St. Regis Hotel, offers fine dining that reinterprets Malaysian flavors and ingredients in a modern European style, with a different ambiance for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The business lunch menu, which was recently updated and is available only on weekdays, allows you to choose between a two-course or three-course meal. The meal includes a light appetizer, a main course chosen from a selection of grilled dishes and pastas, a beautiful dessert or cheese plate served with homemade brioche and butter, and chocolate to finish.
The prawn cocktail I chose as my appetizer was a work of art—far more exquisite and delicious than I could have imagined from the menu description. The Wagyu steak I ordered as my main course was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Given the atmosphere, the price feels like a real valued, and I definitely plan to return.

私が選んだ前菜のプラウンカクテルは、メニュー名からの想像を超えるアートのような仕上がりとおいしさでした。メインの和牛ステーキのミディアムレアの焼き加減もパーフェクト。この雰囲気でこのお値段はお値打ち感があり、またリピートしたいと思います。

Raw oysters and tempura were also on the menu.

The eye-catching, luxurious, and beautiful "LV The Place" in Bangkok. This is where Bangkok’s first Louis Vuitton exhibition is being held. It’s an immersive exhibition where you can experience the brand’s approximately 150-year history, creations, and art collaborations through themed spatial displays. Admission is free with a reservation.
I visited two years ago, but since it was close to my hotel, I decided to go again. It wasn’t crowded, so I was able to take my time looking around. At the end, there was a vending machine-style corner where you could win random prizes, and I received a postcard.
